This presentation provides an update on several laws that have changed in relation to title insurance and real estate transactions. It includes legal updates about remote online notary, revocable transfer on death deeds, Prop 19 and more. The presentation will also cover title insurance guidelines for recordings, orders, verbiage on documentation and recognizing title issues. Two or three case studies are also included to exhibit how to resolve problems on title to a property once discovered. The presentation is updated annually to include different content.
About our Speaker
Kevin Sayles obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of La Verne, Magna Cum Laude and an MBA from the University of Redlands. He started his career in the real estate industry by working in banking beginning in 1993. While working for some of the nation’s largest savings institutions, Kevin received extensive training in lending, sales, appraisals, banking back office, escrow and title and of course, probate, retail and commercial banking. Kevin brought his extensive experience to the title industry in early 1999. As a probate specialist, Kevin reviews several files and scenarios daily that involved deceased parties, probate, trusts and estates, court orders, etc. He has a “never say die” attitude and knows how to close the deals! It is estimated that he has closed well over 15,000 transactions while working as a title representative. He uses his knowledge and first hand experience to help close even the toughest transactions. Kevin has authored two real estate books. “Probate Real Estate Sales 101” was his first book and an Amazon “Bestseller”. His second book is “The Wholesaler’s Guide To Closing Real Estate Deals”. Currently, Kevin helps attorneys, real estate agents and investors close transactions as a Vice President and Probate Expert at Lawyers Title.
