Healthcare and Elder Law Programs Corp. (H.E.L.P.) is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to empowering older adults and their families by providing impartial information, education and counseling on elder care, law, finances and consumer protection.
Britt Huff, Ph.D. is the Executive Director of H.E.L.P. She received her B.A. from UCLA and her Ph.D. from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. In addition to her background in non-profit management and consulting, Britt has been active in the local community. She has served on the Boards of the LA BioMed Foundation and Palos Verdes Peninsula Education Foundation and is also member of the Palos Verdes Chamber of Commerce, the Torrance Chamber of Commerce, the PV committee for the Philharmonic, the Peninsula Chapter of National Charity League, and she served on the Planning Commission for the City of Rolling Hills Estates for five years, most recently as Chair. In November 2013 she was elected to the City Council for Rolling Hills Estates, and is presently serving as the Mayor.
H.E.L.P.’s education and counseling programs focus on elder care options, legal and financial planning tools, and consumer protection. Through its community classes, in-office and telephone consultations, and on its www.Help4srs.org website, it provides objective, accurate and up-to-date assistance, information, and referrals to community, non-profit and government organizations. H.E.L.P. assists older adults and their families in making decisions about powers of attorney for healthcare and financial matters; probate court avoiders; government entitlement programs, and protections from elder fraud and abuse.
